RS MP bats for Nationalism

Rajya Sabha MP Sanajaoba has urged the youth to embrace Nationalism on the seventh foundation day of Justice Committee on Anglo Manipuri War, Martyrs and Freedom Fighters of Kangleipak (Manipur) .
At the observance held at Jawaharlal Nehru Manipur Dance Academy todday, Sanajaoba who is the titular king of Manipur led in offering floral tributes to the martyrs.
The gathering also observed silence for two minutes.
Addressing the function as chief guest, Sanajaoba emphasized that although the youth may have the spirit of Nationalism, it's essential to instill more of this value in them.
He also encouraged people to delve deeper into the lives and struggles of Manipur's freedom fighters and appreciate their contributions to the State's history.
Saying that he has slightly over a year left in his term as a Member of Parliament, Sanajaoba added that he will try to fulfil the aspirations of the people during his remaining term.
Joychandra Konthoujam, chairman of the Justice Committee, was the functional president.
He said that Manipur is in trouble because elected representatives prioritise power over serving the State's interests.
Saying that there is no point in having MLAs as they exist merely in name now, he asked them (the MLAs) to resign.
Joykumar, meanwhile, urged the Centre to penalize those who object to the initiative of opening highways from tomorrow.
Historian Professor Naorem Joykumar and and JNMDA Director Pukhrambam Bilash also attended the programme among others.
