The Cancer Specialist who is also the Managing Director of Trevi Hospital asserted that India has a high cancer rate, but it also has a high cure rate.
"The incidence rate of cervical cancer, which is caused by a virus, in Manipur is 9 to 11 per lakh.
For India, the figure stands at 18/100000", he added.
"One can be protected from cervical cancer by getting the HPV vaccine.
Children between the ages of 9 to 20 years can get this vaccine.
Those between 9-15 years have to get only two doses of the vaccine while those beyond 15 years of age have to get three doses", he explained.
