Fit India Week, Gender Awareness Programme organised at IIE

Imphal, December 18 2023:
A Gender Awareness Programme as collaboration for Nayi Chetna 2.0 was held at the auditorium of Ibotombi Institute of Education (IIE), Kha Naorem Leikai, Canchipur on December 18, 2023 .
According to a release issued by IIE principal Dr RK Bijen Singh, the programme was attended by teachers, teacher-educators and teacher-students of both B Ed and D El Ed courses.
Santa Khurai, internationally renowned gender activist, writer and scholar who herself is a transgender, spoke on gender issues and its dynamics like gender equality, sexuality and gender discrimination with special reference to society.

Her ordeal from a boy to a mother was listened with keen interest and interaction from an enthusiastic audience.
A short film titled "NAWA" was also screened during the programme.
Besides, IIE Canchipur under the direction of National Council for Teacher Education had also organised the "Fit India Week" from December 12-15, 2023 .
Various activities such as fitness pledge, essays writing competition and yoga & meditation were conducted during the Fit India Week.
K Mukta Singh, Assistant Professor took part in the event as a resource person cum instructor.
