SFs 'recover' arms, ammunition

Imphal, July 18 2024: A combined team of Kakching commandos and troops of 131G company of BSF carried out a search operation at Khongyam Heirikokthong under Wangoo police station today and recovered some arms and ammunition.

The recovered items include one carbine with a magazine loaded with 6 live rounds, two air pistols, nine .36 highly explosive hand grenades along with four detonators, one 2-inch mortar shell, one highly explosive 2-inch shell, one country made shell, 48 empty cases of 7.62mm SLR ammunition, 13 stun shells, six tear smoke shells, five Stranger cartridges, three anti riot double blast, two 12 bore cartridges, one INSAS LMG magazine, two Baofeng walkie talkie sets with battery, three bullet proof vests, one camouflage half-shirt, 1 camouflage full sleeve shirt, one pair of leather boots, 24 empty cases of .303 ammunition, 12 empty cases of AK Rifle, six tear smoke bombs etc.

The recovered items have been handed over to Wangoo police station.
