Seminar on 'Golden Era of Manipur and Today' held

Imphal, March 27 2025: Asia Pacific Foundation, Manipur organised a seminar-cum-workshop on the theme: 'Revisiting the Golden Era of Manipur and Today' at The Junction Conference Hall, LMS Arcade, Ningthemchakarong on March 23. As per a release, the programme commenced with speakers highlighting the ideas on why such event has been organised in this critical juncture.

Experts of different fields spoke on the occasion, which served as a platform for both intellectuals and activists to share views and interact on the given topics.

Seminar on 'Golden Era of Manipur and Today' held

Topic such as 'Politics of ethnicity', 'ideas of inclusivity', 'Life', 'Understanding women in conflicting situation' and 'Works of Meitei Pangal political leaders' were discussed.

It also discussed on how older generation seems to be more productive than the present generations and the effort of intellectuals to reflect the story of collective struggle in Manipur history.

The release also stated that one of the speakers raised serious concerns on the issues of women in the domestic affairs, despite the crucial role women play in the social and political movements.

Another speaker highlighted the dire economic situation people of Manipur are facing at the juncture and called for preserving culture and boosting economy at the same time.

The role of women in the market with special reference to the social and political crisis was also discussed.
