Pandit Khelchandra condoled

Governor Gurbachan Jagat led others in condoling the demise of Padmashree Pandit Ningthoukhongjam Khelchandra Singh.
The Governor, in his condolence message, said that Manipur has lost a great scholar, historian, a promoter of Manipuri arts and culture.
Pandit Khelchandra's contributions towards the development of Manipuri literature and scripts and promotion of Manipuri martial art will always be remembered.
The Governor added that through Pandit Khelchandra's rare contributions in various fields, he will remain alive amidst all of us and future generations.
Gurbachan Jagat also shared grief with the bereaved family members.
BJP Manipur Pradesh also mourned passing away of the Pandit in a condolence meeting held at its office today.
The party in a press release said that Pandit Khelchadra was a real son of the soil who had contributed his best in fine tuning the history, culture and literature of Manipur.
The party observed a two-minute silence as a mark of respect to the departed soul.
Naharol Sahitya Premee Samiti also condoled the demise of Pandit Khelchandra by holding a condolence meeting yesterday.
