140 more power defaulters detected

Imphal, February 02, 2011:
In the continuing drive against default electricity consumers, power department today collected a revenue of Rs 37,70,903, out of which Rs 27,50,414 were collected at the counter while Rs 10,20,489 at the sites.
During the drive power line of 140 default consumers (nine in IED-I, 37 in IED-II, 64 in IED-III and 30 in IMD) were disconnected taking the toll disconnected consumer to 926 since the commencement of the drive on January 24. One unauthorized consumed was also booked the Electricity Act.
With this the total number of consumers booked rose to 62, a statement of the department said.
