Khongjom School celebrates anniversary

Teaching staff of Slopeland Public School, Khongjom will be entitled to enjoy salary on par with the 5th Pay Commission ceiling from the 2011-12 academic session, announced the School's founder secretary cum principal, M Babulin on the occasion of the educational institute's ninth foundation anniversary held today at its Salt Village premises.
Addressing the gathering after the School Management Committee chairman Y Thambou had hoisted the School flag, Babulin affirmed that the school authorities are committed in ensuring that its students are moulded to a responsible and dignified citizen.
He also stated that inspite of the financial position of the School not at its best, the School Management Committee has decided to hike the salary as recommended by the 5th Pay Commission.
Speaking as the chief guest, president of Senior Citizens for Society Manipur, L Binoy called upon the teachers to guide the students become future leaders as Manipur is in urgent need for a trustworthy public leader.
Prof L sadananda, who also spoke on the occasion, said the desire to learn and experience should be uppermost in the mind of the students for only a value-based education can eradicate various malaises besieging the society.
Apart from speeches of exhortation by other speakers, presentation of cultural items and token gifts to donors and patrons of the School were the other main attraction of the event.
