Kayakalp awards distributed

Imphal, March 27 2025: An award distribution ceremony for the Kayakalp and Eco-Friendly Programme for the years 2023-24 and 2024-25 was held at the Raj Bhavan Durbar Hall on Thursday, in the presence of Governor Ajay Bhalla.

The event was hosted by the State Quality Assurance Cell, State Health Society, National Health Mission, Manipur.

The Kayakalp programme recognises public health facilities for their excellence in cleanliness, hygiene, and infection control through cash awards and commendations based on assessment scores.

During the 2023-24 assessment, 125 out of 419 facilities were awarded, while 180 facilities received awards for 2024-25 .

In the district hospital category, DH Tamenglong was adjudged the best in 2023-24, receiving a cash award of Rs 50 lakh, while DH Chandel was recognised as the best in 2024-25 with the same cash award.

In the Community Health Centre (CHC) category, CHC Nambol bagged the top honour in 2023-24 and was awarded Rs 15 lakh, while CHC Wangoi secured the best CHC award in 2024-25, also receiving Rs 15 lakh.

The Eco-Friendly Programme awards were presented to DH Tamenglong and CHC Wangoi for 2023-24, and DH Churachandpur and CHC Nambol for 2024-25, recognising their efforts in promoting eco-friendly practices and sustainability within the healthcare sector .
