Imphal, May 26 2025:
Khundrakpam MLA Th Lokeshwar on Sunday called on BJP legislators to put up a united front, stating that it is no longer the time to follow the Centre's signal when the name "Manipur" has already faced restrictions within its own territory.
He made the remarks at the closing ceremony of the 3rd YLL Trophy, 2025, organised by Yaipha Lamjing Lup at Khundrakpam Mayai Leikai, where he attended as chief guest.
Referring to the recent Gwaltabi incident, Lokeshwar described it as a serious indication of something unsettling.
He also questioned the silence of BJP MLAs and their allies on the issue and urged for a thorough investigation into the incident.

"It is unfortunate that while efforts are underway to form a new government by some ruling BJP MLAs, they remain silent on a matter of such importance," he lamented, adding that it was no longer time for them to act on the Centre's indication.
Lokeshwar said that there are 44 MLAs in the ruling alliance, excluding the 10 Kuki MLAs, and added that five Congress MLAs are ready to join hands and approach the Raj Bhavan.
"Manipur should come first before everything.
Being an MLA is meaningless when there is no longer a Manipur," he asserted.
In the final match, ANYC-A, Awang Ngairangbam defeated PYO Khundrakpam 3-2 in penalty shootout.
