Imphal, October 11 2010: The 2nd Dance Festival organised by IPAK Films Production has kick started at MDU Hall today.

Health and Family Welfare Minister Ph Parijat, Deputy Secretary of IPR and CADA, Hareshwar Goswami and Ch Surendra Sharma graced the opening function as chief guest, guest of honour and president of the opening function respectively.

Ph Parijat while speaking in the function said that art and culture make Manipur known to the world.

Manipuri dances which are unique from other dance forms identify Manipur as a State which treasure rich culture and tradition.

Manipuri dancers have brought laurels to the State by winning many prestigious awards not only at the National level but also at International level.

Hareshwar Goswami while delivering his speech opined that dancers and performers in the field of art and culture must be encouraged by giving monetary award and providing employment.

A special issue of Ipak monthly journal was also released in the function.
