Imphal, March 07 2025: The Village Protection Force (VPF) in Sinam has written to the Governor, seeking immediate actions to restore normalcy in the State.

Specifically, the VPF, in the memorandum, requested that the Governor dismantle Kuki militant bunkers at the Wakan hill range and increase security deployment in the area.

The VPF also requested the Governor to make sure volunteers who acted to protect their communities don't face legal action or police cases and to provide legal arms with lincenses to volunteers for self defence purposes.

The VPF also sought assurance from the Governor to abrogate Suspension of Operation pact, implement NRC with 1951 as the base year in Manipur, complete the border fencing project on time, deport illegal immigrants, eradicate poppy cultivation and resettle the Internally Displaced People (IDPs) .
