Training centre inaugurated

The fifth mobile computer training centre was introduced to locals of Kakhulong by the National Institute of Electronics and Information Technology (NIELIT), Imphal in association with Kakhulong Youth Committee, Kakhulong, Imphal.
MLA of Sagolband Assembly Constituency RK Imo graced the inauguration function as the chief guest while executive director NIELIT (Imphal, Kohima, Aizwal and Agartala) Th Prameshwor was the functional president.
Kullakpa (Nampou) of Kakhulong Meitutna Phaomei and Joint Director (Admin and Finance) NIELIT T Gunendra graced the programme as the guests of honour.
The mobile computer training centre will impart computer knowledge to residents of Kakhulong.
Irrespective of age, more than 100 students have already signed up for the computer course which is scheduled to continue for the next six months, stated an official of NIELIT.
Course on Computer Concepts (CCC) and Diploma in Computer Application (DCA) are offered in the mobile computer training centre as part of Digital India.
Addressing at the occasion, RK Imo said, "In this fast developing digital world, we need to prepare ourselves with computer knowledge or we will be left out.
In this world, we need to be aware digitally and teach ourselves to be digital" .
He applauded the initiative taken up by NIELIT for providing computer courses to the doorsteps and urged to organize or plan training programmes in other parts of Sagolband Assembly Constituency.
He also urged the residents of Kakhulong to take part in the free computer courses.
Th Prameshwor said such rare opportunities for residents of Kakhulong should be well utilized and said that enrolment of more than 100 participants for the course shows that people are interested.
He also expressed his desire to select two or three trainers from Kakhulong who have participated in the six months training course to impart the same in other parts of the State.
"In this digital world, an educated man with no computer knowledge is regarded as an uneducated," added Prameshwor.
Kullakpa (Nampou) Meitutna Phaomei showed his gratitude to the officials of NIELIT for setting up such training centre in the area.
