Jan Kalyan Shivir expands across Manipur, bringing welfare services closer to people

District administrations across Manipur continued the Jan Kalyan Shivir (Public Welfare Camp) campaign with large-scale outreach programmes in Senapati, Pherzawl, Tamenglong, Tengnoupal, Churachandpur and Kamjong districts, aimed at ensuring effective delivery of government welfare schemes and services to eligible citizens.
The campaign, being conducted nationwide from June 12 to 20, 2026, focuses on saturation df Central and State Government welfare schemes through fresh registrations, enrolment, correction of records, grievance redressal and speedy disposal of pending cases.
SENAPATI
In Senapati, the three-day district-wide Jan Kalyan Shivir was inaugurated at the Multi-Purpose Hall opposite the Mini Secretariat Complex.
The programme is also being held at the sub-divisional level across the district.
Deputy Commissioner Senapati Dharun Kumar S, while inaugurating the camp, said the initiative would strengthen transparent, efficient and accountable governance by taking essential services directly to the people.
He urged citizens to make full use of the camp and avail benefits without facing difficulties in approaching government offices.
The Deputy Commissioner, along with Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADM) PP Ronald and CEO, ADC Senapati Adahrii Maheo, inspected the departmental stalls set up at the venue.
During the programme, different departments distributed welfare benefits including six Kisan Credit Card sanction letters under Khet Bachao Abhiyan, sports materials to youth organisations, vermicompost units, hearing aids, wheelchairs, walking sticks, Ayushman Bharat PM-JAY cards, CMHT cards, Mission Vatsalya sponsorships, dustbins under Solid Waste Management and tree saplings.
A total of 25 departmental stalls were opened to provide information on welfare schemes, facilitate enrolment and deliver on-the-spot services.
Sub-divisional camps were also conducted at Lairouching and Song Song.
PHERZAWL
The Pherzawl District Administration launched its three-day Jan Kalyan Shivir at Parbung Community Hall to improve access to government services and welfare schemes.
Departments including Health, Agriculture, MSPDCL, Zonal Education Office and Information Technology participated in the camp, providing multiple services under a single platform.
Officials facilitated fresh registrations, scheme enrolment, correction of government records, grievance redressal and disposal of pending cases.
Residents availed registration and verification services under PM-JAY, CMHT, PM-Kisan and PM Surya Ghar schemes.
Health screening and Aadhaar enrolment and updation facilities were also provided.
TAMENGLONG
A three-day State-wide registration, enrolment and awareness camp under the Jan Kalyan Shivir initiative is underway at the Multi Purpose Hall, Mini Stadium, Tamenglong.
The camp, organised by the District Administration, has opened several service counters to assist citizens in accessing government schemes and certificates.
Seventeen stalls run by line departments and partner agencies are providing services including Aadhaar enrolment, PM-Kisan registration, TB screening and issuance of ST and other certificates.
Officials including CEO, ADC Tamenglong Kachamthai F Gangmei, SDO Tamenglong D Meidinbui, SDC Savio Daimei, CMO Dr Sunil Kamei and ZEO N Abonpou Christopher attended the programme.
The administration appealed to residents to visit the venue during the remaining days to avail themselves of the available services.
TENGNOUPAL
In Tengnoupal, the Jan Kalyan Shivir campaign, which was launched yesterday, continued at Khangshim Community Hall, Khangshim.
Several departments set up stalls and enrolment counters to provide services to the public.
The District Handloom and Textiles Department received 15 applications and disposed of all cases during the camp.
The Social Welfare Department received 14 applications under the Manipur Old Age Pension Scheme and provided 18 related services, while two applications under the Widow Pension Scheme were received and four services were delivered.
The concluding day of the Tengnoupal campaign will be held at the SDO Office, Moreh.
CHURACHANDPUR
The District Administration Churachandpur conducted the Jan Kalyan Shivir at multiple locations including YPA Hall, Hiangtam Lamka, Muolvaiphei Community Hall, C Tuiveljang village, Suangdoh village, Tuilaphai Community Hall and Tuibong SDO Office.
Deputy Commissioner Krishna Kumar said the camps were designed as a people-centric, singlewindow platform to bridge the gap between beneficiaries and government welfare schemes.
At Tuilaphai, MLA of Henglep AC Letzamang Haokip distributed saplings, pesticides and agricultural plant nutrients in the presence of SDO Henglep Mangminthang Gangte.

Awareness sessions were also held to educate people about different welfare schemes.
KAMJONG
Continuing the three-day campaign, the Kamjong District Administration organised public welfare camps at Kongkan, Maku High School, Phalang Community Hall and SDO/BDO Complex, Kasom Khullen.
Various departments and banks, including Health, CAF & PD, Agriculture, Social Welfare, Transport, Fisheries, Forest, Horticulture, Education, Veterinary, MSPDCL, MSRLM and RD & PR, participated in the camps.
Services were provided under schemes including Ayushman Bharat, CMHT, PM-Kisan Samman Nidhi, Kisan Credit Card, PM Matsya Kisan Samridhi Sah Yojana, PM Surya Ghar, PM Ujjwala Yojana and Startup Manipur Scheme.
Deputy Commissioner Kamjong LN Kashung interacted with village elders during his visit to the camp at Maku village under Sahamphung Sub-Division.
The district administration will continue the campaign with more camps scheduled on June 19 at Ramphoi, Lungphu Community Hall, Nambashi Khullen and Shingcha Primary School.
The Jan Kalyan Shivir campaign aims to ensure that welfare benefits and essential government services reach every eligible citizen through effective grassroots-level implementation.
