Imphal, May 16 2026:
YK Dhiren, convenor of the Coordinating Committee on Manipur Integrity (COCOMI), has urged the people of Manipur to remain vigilant against the alleged divisive policy of the Government of India (GoI) to bifurcate the State into three parts.
He also claimed that the ongoing conflicts among different communities in the State are part of a sinister design of the GoI.
COCOMI organised a sit in protest at Uripok Polem Leikai along with the people of the locality.
During the demonstration, the protesters urged the Government to halt its 'proxy war' and launch a military crackdown on Kuki narco-terrorists.
They also demanded an end to the GoI's alleged policy aimed at exterminating the indigenous people of the State.
Speaking to the media.
Dhiren claimed that the GoI might attempt to create conflicts within a single community, such as the Meiteis or Nagas, to advance its agenda.
He urged the people to remain vigilant.
Manipur has been literally burning since May 3, 2023, due to the Meitei-Kuki conflict, and now another conflict has emerged between the Nagas and the Kukis, the COCOMI leader said.
Saying that narco-terrorists with vested interests are being used to keep Manipur in a constant state of unrest by the GoI, he claimed that the proxy war has weakened unity among the people of Manipur.
The GoI is still scheming to sow enmity among the people of Manipur, he said, cautioning that the Government might attempt to create conflicts even within a single community.
He also claimed that the objective of the Government is to eliminate revolutionary groups fighting to restore the sovereignty of Manipur and to divide the State.
The Government sees these revolutionary groups as obstacles and is scheming to dismantle them, Dhiren alleged.
Stating that the divide-and-rule policy, replicated from the British, however, will not be able to bifurcate Manipur, Dhiren appealed to one and all to stand united to defeat the covert agenda of the GoI.
