KCP bans smokeless tobacco products

Imphal, March 25 2025: Taking serious note of the overall impacts of consumption of gutka and khaini products like Talab, Shikhar and Bombay Paan Masala in Kangleipak and trading these items, KCP Politburo Standing Committee has decided to impose a non-negotiable, permanent blanket ban on transport, trade and consumption of smokeless tobacco products like Talab, Shikhar and Bombay Paan Masala with immediate effect.

A press release issued by the outfit's information and public relations secretary M Punsiba Meitei has also appealed to all transporters, traders and warehouse owners to immediately stop transporting, trading in and warehousing gutka and khaini products such as Talab, Shikhar and Bombay Paan Masala in Kangleipak/Manipur.

It further appealed to the general public, student bodies and local clubs to help the party in its endeavour to bring an end to the transport and trade of harmful products like Talab, Shikhar and Bombay Pan Masala in Kangleipak.
