Imphal, February 12, 2011:
Taking serious note of the controversy over declaration of DPC results for Primary Teachers/HMT/HGT 2006, Kuki Students' Organisation (KSO) Sadar Hills has urged the Government to settle the issue at the earliest.
In a statement, the student body pointed out that application for the post of 1423 Primary Teachers was ordered by the Government in 2006 keeping in view the shortage of teachers at the primary level.
Subsequently, written test and DPC for recruitment of primary teachers were conducted but the results of the DPC have been kept in abeyance all these years.
However, the State Government has not done anything to solve the problems being faced by the student community.
The student body asserted that the position of education in the State has gone from bad to worst in recent times, specially under the present Government.
The series of sit-in-protest, dharna, general strikes, fast unto dead and bandhs called by different organisations against suppression and delay in the declaration of the DPC results for Primary Teachers/HMT/HGT 2006 is proof of how the state of education is under the present Government.
Demanding the Government to make public the findings of the committee which conducted an enquiry into the issue at the level of Chief Secretary, the student body has cautioned that it would take recourse to various forms of agitation if the Government fails to meet the demand.
It also appealed to all the people for support and cooperation toward early resolution of the problem arising out of suppression of DPC results.
