NIT Manipur wraps up workshop on "Al integration in teaching, learning & research"

A three-day hands-on workshop on "AI IntegrationinTeaching, Learning and Research" was successfully conducted at the National Institute of Technology (NIT) Manipur from November 7 to 9, 2025 .
The workshop was organised under the North-East Outreach Programme of the Ministry of Education, Government of India, and conducted by Prof K Srinivas and Prof Pradeep K Misra from NIEPA, New Delhi.
The workshop covered the use of Open Educational Resources (OER) and Creative Commons Licensing, helping participants understand ethical and legal aspects of content sharing and reuse.
Faculty members received hands-on training in crafting effective Al prompts for education and research, using platforms like YouTube, Edpuzzle, and Lumi to create interactive, learner-centric lessons.
On the final day, the sessions focused on developing practical strategies for creating learner-centric classrooms.
Participants engaged in group activities under the "Call to Action" theme, sharing ideas on how to make classrooms more engaging and participatory.
The programme also introduced various Al tools to support research activities such as grant proposal writing, literature review, data collection, quantitative and qualitative analysis, and report preparation.
Through interactive exercises, participants prepared short project proposals integrating the tools and methods demonstrated.
During the closing ceremony, Prof DVLN Somayajulu, Director of NIT Manipur commended the efforts of NIEPA and the participants for their enthusiastic engagement.
He emphasized the potential of NIT Manipur to become a nodal centre for Al integration in education and train teachers from various colleges across the North-East region, aligning with the vision of digital transformation under NEP 2020.The three-day workshop, attended by 46 faculty members, concluded with a renewed commitment to harness the power of Al for enhancing teaching efficiency, research quality, and learner engagement.
The workshop was coordinated by Prof Aheibam Dinamani Singh, Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering, NIT Manipur, under the leadership of Prof DVLN Somayajulu.
