Student unions demand release of pending scholarship amount

Imphal, September 09 2021: Many students union of the colleges in the State have urged the authorities concerned to release the pending scholarship amount for OBC and SC students sponsored by the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment, Govt of India.

And the scholarship amount is released by Minority and Other Backward Classes (MOBC) Department and Tribal Affairs and Hills Department, Manipur.

Voicing the same demands, DM College of Arts Students Union, Manipur College Students Union and Imphal College Student Union in separate statements have appealed to the authorities concerned to release the scholarship amount at the earliest in view of the hardships faced by the students especially during this trying times of COVID-19 pandemic.

The students union maintained that the students of the backward communities are dependent on these scholarship amounts of the Centrally sponsored schemes hence the students are facing a lot of inconveniences since the amounts are pending.

Further the students union also affirmed to render support to All Manipur Students Union (AMSU) in their endeavours to actualise the above mentioned demands.
