Demanding justice for the killing of five people at Tronglaobi including two toddlers and two innocent Tangkhul Naga men on Imphal-Ukhrul road, AMUCO and four other organisations namely; MSF, AMAWOVA, Poirei Leimarol Meira Paibi Apunba Manipur and COHR took out massive protest rally from on Wangkhei-Kongba road today.

Talking to the media, the AMUCO president asserted that the protracted crisis besieging the State is a machination of the Government of India.
The sustained aggression was launched with the objective of annihilating Meitei and other indigenous people of Manipur after giving military training to both SoO and non-SoO militants, Sanjoy said.
He said that AMUCO and other fraternal organisations vehemently condemn the Government of India's strategy of suppressing the Meitei and other indigenous people of Manipur.
Pointing out that the Central security forces have failed miserably to protect the life and property of Manipuri people, he asked the Government of India to withdraw the Central forces deployed in the State.
Asserting that it's time for the people of Manipur to take the responsibility of protecting the State, the AMUCO president said "Self determination is our birthright".
He also demanded complete repeal of AFSPA from Manipur.
While extensive combing operations were carried out in the valley, Kuki militants are allowed to operate freely in the hill areas and kill innocent people at will and with impunity, Sanjoy said and asserted that it's time for the people of Manipur to teach the Government of India a big lesson.
Saying that the Government of India will never safeguard Manipur, he called upon the people of Manipur to take the responsibility of safeguarding the motherland.
The AMUCO president called upon all the people to come out to streets and protest throughout the State against the diabolic policies and activities of the Government of India.
"The current situation of Manipur is very critical.
If we do not act today, there will be no Manipur tomorrow.
If the situation demands, we must a clear cut stand", he said.
Recalling that even the mighty British Empire had to fight fierce and bloody battles when the empire set out to conquer Manipur, the AMUCO president called upon all the people to fight collectively in order to protect the Manipur inherited from the brave forefathers.
Saying that AMUCO and its fraternal organisations will lead the way, he appealed to all the people not to lose courage but stand firm.
Appealing to State security personnel and employees to share the responsibility of safeguarding Manipur, the AMUCO president asked State security personnel to stop using brute force upon protesters.
He also vehemently condemned the killing of two innocent Tangkhul brothers in an ambush at TM Kasom on Imphal-Ukhrul road.
As the protest rally made its way toward Konung Mamang, a strong force of Manipur Police and Rapid Action Force (RAF) blocked the road at Wangkhei Keithel Ashangbi.
AMUCO president S Sanjoy told the security officers that they would not create any disturbance and would turn back from Konung Mamang.
But the security officers asked the protesters to turn back from there through Yonglan Leirak.
As the AMUCO president was talking with the security officers to let the rally proceed till Andro Parking, some people, using loudspeakers suggested taking Yonglan Leirak, instead of confronting the security forces, and the protesters turned to Yonglan Leirak.
Even though some of the protesters took Yonglan Leirak, those who came behind them insisted that they must march till Konung Mamang or Andro Parking.
But the police and RAG blocked their way leading to a stand-off between the two sides.
Soon after, some of the protesters started pelting stones toward the security forces who retaliated with tear gas shells and mock bombs.
Even though the protest rally broke up because of the confrontation, the confrontation went on till evening.
The protesters pelted stones and used slingshots while security forces retaliated with tear gas shells and mock bombs.
