The ten Kuki MLAs who raised the demand for a separate administration have failed to respond to the show cause notice issued by the Privilege and Ethics Committee by the set deadline of December 12, said Director of the Manipur Legislative Assembly.
This was conveyed to representatives of Imagi Meira during their meeting with the Director today as the women's body continues to demand the Assembly to take action against the ten Kuki MLAs.
The Imagi Meira representatives sought to meet the Secretary and Joint Secretary of Manipur Legislative Assembly today but met with the Director instead as the other two officials were absent.
During the meeting, the Director conveyed that the Privilege and Ethics Committee of the State Assembly had sent a show cause notice through the DGP to the 10 MLAs but they had failed to report to the Assembly by the deadline of December 12 .
Sharing that some of the Assembly officials are out of station, he assured that they will deliberate over the action to be taken against the ten Kuki MLAs after their return.
Reportedly, Imagi Meira has also resolved to wait for another two days and meet the Assembly officials to ensure that proper action is taken against the ten Kuki MLAs.
