Acknowledging that all communities in the state have been highly affected by the ongoing conflict, Outer Manipur parliamentary constituency MP Dr Lorho S Pfoze has stated both the warring communities should set aside their anger and work together for peace and development of Manipur.
Speaking to media persons on the sidelines of a function held DC Kakching Office Complex on Saturday, MP Dr Lorho S Pfoze said that though it is not clear how the present crisis in the state started, but it has been going on for far too long and has massively impacted the lives of not just Meeteis and Kukis but also all other communities like Naga, Meitei Pangal, etc.
Considering the upheaval faced by all, it's high time that all of us should work to restore peace in the state, he emphasised.
Dr Lorho disclosed that as an MP he has repeatedly requested Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union home minister Amit Shah to resolve the conflict at the earliest.
So why has it been prolonged till now is something he has no idea about.
There may be some confidential governmental matters regarding the issue, but he has been kept aloof about it, he added.
Dr Lorho reiterated that for now the most pressing matter is restoring peace in the state and for that both Meetei and Kuki communities must let go of the rage and give peace and harmony a chance, otherwise it will become an untreatable sore that will destroy the future of everyone involved.
