CRAU, MODEL prevail in MNCA Elite Tournament

Both CRAU and MODEL notched up a two-wicket victory in Saturday's fixtures of the MNCA Elite Tournament.
CRAU bowled out SCCC in 32.1 overs for 111 and then they chased down the target in 33 overs at Oriental College.
Lamabam Ajay and Heish-nam Joyhenba wreaked havoc with the ball, snaring seven wickets between.
Ajay finished with four scalps and Joyhenba claimed three as Takhellambam Kala did his bit with two wickets and Johny Kh took one for CRAU.
Rahul Chanda (27) top scored for SCCC, followed by Sandeep Chakraborty (220, Basant (17) and Pinkey Singh Sanasam (16).In reply, CRAU overhauled the target in 33 overs, losing eight wickets in the process.
In the chase, Dijen Naorem (24), Ronil Postshangbam (22), Takhellambam Kala (13 not out) and Lamalam Ajay (11 not out) were key contributors in their side's two-wicket victory.
Lamalam Ajay was named the man of the match for his four-wicket haul and unbeaten 11.MODEL, meanwhile, chased down a 212-run target set by MPSC at Public Ground Khanabok-3, Cherapur.
MPSC's innings saw Potsangbam Bonem's 71, Gelson Thoudam's 39, Sagolsem Sunil's 30 and Soubam King son's 21 (not out) hand their team a competitive total.
For MODEL, Suson Yanglem was the pick of the bowlers taking four wickets while Robertson Laishram and Somorjit Salam snapped two each, and Langlonyamna bagged one.
In their response, M Langlonyamba's gritty knock of 78 off 61 balls and Bijenkumar Nongmaithem's unbeaten 55, coupled with helpful contributions from Thoudam Deepak (25), Bipinkumar Langpoklakpam (21) and Robertson Laishram (15) helped MODEL surpass MPSC's score in the 37th over and celebrated a two-wicket win.
In the process, four of MODEL'S batsmen got dismissed by Oinam Rojit while two fell to Maibam Bijoykumar and one to Sarangthem Shangkar.
M Langlonyamba, who smashed 78 off 61 balls, earned the man of the match accolade.
