Imphal, February 24 2023:
The proscribed RPF has conveyed gratitude to all the revolutionary groups based in WeSEA and outside the region who condoled the demise of President Irengbam Chaoren and showed solidarity at this difficult time.
A press release issued by the outfit's Deputy Secretary, Publicity Roben Khuman recalled that Irengbam Chaoren passed away on February 10, 2023 after battling a fatal illness.
Condolence meetings and his last rites were performed at the RPF's IC headquarters, Ghqs, departments and military camps.
His last rites were performed both within Manipur and outside in the lines of Meetei indigenous faith, Buddhism, Christianity, Hinduism, Islam and Taoism.
It also conveyed gratitude to all the people based outside Manipur who support the liberation movement of RPF and sent condolence messages.
It further conveyed gratitude to all the revolutionary groups who described Irengbam Chaoren as an ideal and exceptional revolutionary and public leader.
Even though Thouburen Sir Ahal (Irengbam Chaoren) has passed away, RPF would carry on the liberation movement with the same conviction as before, it asserted.
Neither the politicians of Manipur nor the policies of the alleged puppet Government are trustworthy or credible, it said.
The Government of India's initiative of 'peace talks' is a strategy aimed at paralysing the revolutionary groups.
Revolutionaries always sacrifice for the cause of truth and there is no justifiable reason for the revolutionaries to surrender, it said.
The outfit asserted that what is needed urgently in Manipur/Kangleipak is unity.
With Irengbam Chaoren's message that "Internecine killings would not do anything positive for the Nation and it is not a correct approach to confront each other but we must reconcile with each other to the maximum level", the RPF called upon all the revolutionary groups of Manipur/Kangleipak to come together as one.
t said that there would be no raising day message to the party cadres and the public on February 25 this year as a mark of respect to the departed leader.
