YUCC, PCC, MPSC triumph in MNCA Superplate Tournament

Friday's fixtures of the MNCA Superplate Tournament saw YUCC, PCC and MPSC register contrasting victories.
YUCC strolled to an 88-run victory over SDC at Model Hr Sec & Oriental College Ground.
The winning side opted to bat first and were all out for 168 in 40 overs.
In the innings, Ningthoujam Thoiba (28), Ningthoujam Rohit (27) Ningthoujam Amarjit (18), Ningthoujam Sanjit (17) and W Lenin (11) were the run-getters who got into double digits.
Thangboy Doungel shone with the ball for SDC by scalping 4 wickets as Paonam Satyajit claimed 2 wickets, with Bollanah and Konjengbam Monish taking 1 each.
YUCC successfully defended their total courtesy of a brilliant bowling display spearheaded by Ningthoujam Sanjit, who snapped 4 wickets.
Ningthoujam Amarjit did his bit with 3 scalps, Kadamjit Moirangthem bagged 2 wickets and Ningthoujam Rahulkumar accounted for one.
SDC were bowled out for 80 in 23.5 overs as Tarun Khagokpam (19) and Naoshekpam Kiran Meitei (15) were the only performers in their dismal run chase.
Ningthoujam Sanjit walked away with the man4of-the-match accolade.
PCC, meanwhile, beat Mu-vanlai by 67 runs at Langthabal Public Ground.
Electing to bat first, PCC posted 194/9 in 40 overs.
The innings saw Charoibam Tyson hit 41, with decent contributions from Huidrom Dhanashyam (25), Mathurabashimayum Meitei (24), Vikas (20) and Bobby Khangembam (19) .
Two each of PCC's batters fell prey to Sanjay Kaphle, Soorat Kaphle, L Thangsuanlian and Haolengou Kipgen, and one to Siehboi Vaiphei.
Muvanlai faltered in their run chase and were dismissed for 127 in 29.3 overs as promising start by opener Haolengou Kipgen (38) did little to help his side in the chase.
Md Aslam (18) and Shibadatta Ningthoujam (15) were other notable batters.
Mathurabashimayum Jobanta Sharma and Thokchom Santosh bowled well to share 7 wickets between them, with the former picking 4 wickets and the latter taking 3 as Vikas and Longjam Gibson bagged 1 wicket each.
Jobanta Sharma was named man of the match.
MPSC carved out a 13-run win over TCMDC in a low-scoring match at Luwangpokpa Cricket Stadium.
MPSC chose to bat first but their batting order crumbled in 29 overs after scoring 106 runs.
Sagolsem Sunil (35) and Maibam Bijoykumar (19 not out) were the only bright spots in their innings.
With a meagre total of 106, MPSC were staring down the barrel of defeat but a tight bowling attack later helped them prevail over their opponents.
Maibam Bijoykumar and Keisham Kennedy finished with 3 wickets each, Sarangthem Shangker claimed 2 and Oinam Rojit took 1 to help MPSC beat TCMDC by 13 runs.
For TCMDC, Suraj scored 29 and Sarangthem Priyobrata made 24 in their innings.
Maibam Bijoykumar clinched the man-of-the-match title.
