10 new cases detected

Imphal, April 01 2022: At least 10 new Covid positive cases were reported out of 286 samples tested in the last 24 hours, thereby increasing the single day positivity rate to 3.5 per cent as compared to 0.2 per cent updated yesterday.

The number of active cases, on the other hand, remain at 34 .

All the 10 fresh cases confirmed are from the general population and residents of Imphal West (4), Imphal East (3), Bishnupur (2) and Chandel (1) .

The cumulative number of deaths, however, remains at 2120 as none died due to the disease in the period (last 24 hours), as per COVID-19 Common Control Room.

Among the districts, Imphal West reported the maximum number of deaths so far at 704 while Pherzawl is at the bottom as the district has no Covid deaths till date.

As 10 persons were discharged from Home Isolation after recuperation today, the recovered cases has mounted to 1,34,950 while the recovery rate now stands at 98.43 per cent.

Yesterday, the State distributed 258 D-type and 79 B-type oxygen cylinders to different health facilities of Manipur and administered 1995 Covid vaccine doses.

In terms of Covid bed availability, altogether 486 Covid beds are vacant at JNIMS (297) and RIMS (186) .

Till yesterday, the rate of Covid vaccination in Manipur stood at 61.53 per cent (first dose) and 50.52 per cent (2nd dose) .
