Hero IWL Qualifiers : Rinaroy, Thoibisana star as YWC kick off campaign with 4-0 rout of Golazo FC

Manipur outfit YWC (Young Welfare Club, Langthabal) rode on goals from Salam Rinaroy and Toijam Thoibisana Chanu to kick off Hero Indian Women League qualifying round with a 4-0 rout of Golazo Football Club at Dr Ambedkar Stadium, New Delhi today.
The AMFA Senior Women's Football League champions had a dominant start to the game but were denied from making their stride until captain S Rinaroy found the back of the net to give YWC the lead in the 34th minute.
Capitalising on another chance, Rinaroy completed her brace four minutes later to double the advantage.
After YWC entered into the break with a 2 goal lead, mid-fielder Toijam Thoibisana took charge of the attack and banged in twice in the 53rd and the 62nd minute to put the game beyond doubt.
In a bid to intensify their cause and clinch a massive win, YWC used fresh forwards, Lourembam Menaka and Hoineihat towards the end but had to settle for the 4-0 finish as Golazo FC defense upped the ante to avoid further disappointment.
With the result, YWC are second in Group standings (qualifiers) after Ahmedabad Racquet Academy Football Club (ARA FC) who demolished Guwahati City FC 12-0 in another lopsided qualifying round match of the IWL today.
Shreya Oza (9', 16', 20'), Anju (54', 74', 90+1'), Kiran (14', 53'), Madhubala Alawe (60', 80', 86') and Poonam (48') were on target for the Ahmedabad club.
The winners of the qualifying round will join 11 teams in the (main tournament) final round of the league tournament set to begin from April 15.The teams which will fight it out in a round-robin league format and the league winners will be getting the chance to play in the next edition of the AFC Women's Club Championship.
YWC will play Guwahati City FC in the next match on April 3 at the same venue (Dr Ambedkar Stadium) .
