2nd Y Rashmani 7-a-side hockey meet : SSA thrash Bashikhong

In a a totally one sided match, SSA Charangpat thrashed Bashikhong-B by a margin of 11 goals to 2 in the 2nd match of the 2nd Y Rashmani Memorial Invitation Mens' Open 7-a-side Hockey Tournament at Y Rashmani ground, Kontha Ahallup today.
Riding on a 6 goal blitzkrieg from K Ibungo, the players of SSA Charangpat were all over the field, never giving their opponents a whiff of the ball.
Ibungo opened the floodgates in the 10th minute of the match and he followed this up with goals in the 29th, 39th, 41st, 49th and 50th minute of the game.
Taking complete control of the match, the game was mostly played on the side of Bashikhong-B, who were stretched to their limits to keep the marauding players of SSA Charangpat at bay.
In between the 6 goal spree from Ibungo, H Romi scored in the 13th minute, H Romeshkumar in the 17th minute, L Dipu in the 25th minute and S Meiraba in the 35th and 45th minute of the match to complete the rout.
For Bashikhong B two consolation goals came from the stick of S Alexander in the 40th minute and Th Henthoiba in the 42nd minute.
The domination of SSA Charangpat was also reflected in the number of penalty corners it earned at 6 while Bashikhong could earn only two penalty corners.
Earlier in the first match of the day, the A team of Bashikhong also lost to Henjunaha by a margin of 2 goals to four.
Bashikhong A shot into the lead, when Th Kirankumar managed to outpace the defenders of Henjunaha and sounded the board in the 23rd minute.
Stung by the goal, which came against the run of the play, Henjunaha put more men in the attack and Ph Amarjit rose to the occasion splendidly and scored a hattrick to take the match away from the reach of Bashikhong A .
Amarjit sounded the board in the 25th, 29th and 48th minute of the match while M Bronson scored in the 55th minute to carve out a win by a margin of 4 goals to 2 .
N Jenjen of Bashikhong A scored in the 27th minute to reduce the margin.
