AMCO proposes 11 points

The All Manipur Christian Organisation (AMCO) during its one-day consultation with civil societies, NGOs and Church leaders on Feb 25 adopted 11-point people's manifestos which AMCO wants political parties to incorporate in their respective manifestos for the ensuing Lok Sabha elections 2014 .
According to a statement issued by the president of AMCO, Rev S Prim Vaiphei, the people's manifestos adopted on Feb 25 included ensuirng at least 3 % reservation for women in all decision making bodies including village authority; ensure effective functioning of State Human Rights Commission; to make public welfare schemes transparent and make civil societies/ NGOs partner in the implementation; equal infrastructure development both in hills and valley; conserve and protect forest and wild life; create more employment opportunities for youth.
To ensure 24-hr power supply throughout the State either through small hydel project or solar power; to develop State water policy; to ensure proper implementation of RTE and eradicate culture of substitute teachers in Govt schools; to make MPLAD and MLALAD funds transparent and hold them accountable to the public and to ensure full functioning of PHCs/CHCs in remote corners of the State with adequate infrastructure, manpower and equipment are also included in people's manifestos.
