SDBA 10th Annual Championship begins

The 10th Senapati District Badminton Championship began today with Senapati ADC chairman ML Markson inaugurating the opening ceremony as chief guest at Indoor Stadium Hall, Senapati.
The tournament is jointly organised by Senapati District Badminton Association (SDBA) and District Administration, as an annual meet.
During the inaugural session ML Markson, once again reiterated the need for "Discipline and Punctuality", among the sports persons.
Observing the talented sports personalities in Senapati district, he pointed out that many talent fade due to consumption of intoxicants like tobacco, alcohol and drugs.
Urging the youth of the district to love sports and games, he stated that budding sports persons in the district who have brought laurels to the district in archery and boxing should be supported by the district and mentioned that civil organi- zations and the district administration are also making efforts to support them to reach the National level.
Appraising the badminton association, the chairman also stated that it is one the organisations that is fully functional since its inception and urged them to improve.
Addressing the participants of the championship, Markson also advised them to play for winning respect by displaying discipline and not only to win the game.
The president of the function, Senapati ADC Vice- Chairman John Hingba addressed the ceremony in briefly, where, he stated that "Sports and games can help the district of Senapati to be a drug free district" .
The functional president also lauded the SDBA for bringing many laurels and glory to the district since the last 14 years of its inception and urged them to continue bringing pride to the people.
Benjamin Tao, the former APSAS president and present leader of the BJP ADC, Senapati, attended as guest of honour of the inauguration.
He brought good news to the district lads by sharing the statement of Smriti Zubin Irani, Union Minister of Human Resource Development, India, who reportedly said Senapati has been identified as talent studded and will be referred to the Human Resource Development Ministry.
