70th Anniv of Suisa's NPOTSC observed

The R Suisa Trust (RST) on Thursday organized a grand function at Union Baptist Church (UBC), Phungreitang to commemorate the 70thAnniversary of the Suisa's New Political Organization Tangkhul Sub-Committee (NPOTSC) .
Delivering the key-note address, AC Ngasathing, former Personal Secretary to R Suisa, said that the New Political Organization was formed by R Suisa on 24 September in 1946 .
"Based in the land of Tangkhuls, the political approach of the organization was to prolong the direct administration by 5 more years by British White Hall over a certain territory in between India and Burma," he said and claimed that this was done with a view to integrating all Naga inhabited areas under one administrative unit when the British left after the five years' period, by then a Naga territory would have been carved out already.
AC Ngasathing also recalled that in its first meeting on 24 September in 1946 organized by Suisa which was largely attended by Tangkhul village chiefs and social leaders, the New Political Organization adopted three resolutions.
The first resolution pertained to the fact that the Nagas and their lands must exist as independent; while the two stipulated that the organization must have a Tangkhul Sub-Committee comprised of 20 members and that all Tangkhul household must contribute 50 paisa each toward the organization's mission.
Speaking on the occasion, J Ngaranmi, CAO, WTR lauded the far-reaching political vision and its mission initiated by Late R Suisa.
Dr.Yaronso Ngalung Chairman ADC Ukhrul also spoke on the Naga political journey, while Sweden Raihing, President TNWL and V Weapon Zimik President TNL delivered their exhortation speeches respectively.
Cultural dance and songs by Awontang Youth and Changji Ngawut enthralled the gathering which was attended by hundreds of Church elders and social leaders of the district.
