Imphal, September 24 2015:
Hijam Irabot's grandson Hijam Indrakumar demanded that Manipur Government allow the people of Manipur to travel at least once free of cost to Myanmar's Tangbaw to pay floral tributes to the pioneer on his death anniversary.
People have been observing the September as Irabo month, but no one has ever suggested for paying floral tributes to him on his death anniversary at Tangbaw village, said Indrakumar and added that Manipur Government should consult Myanmar authorities to allow Manipuris to pay floral tributes on September 26 at the village where Irabot died.
Many members of CPI have had become MPs and ministers, but they could not solve the issue, he said.
Floral tributes used to pay at Tangbaw village with the help of a few friends in Moreh after obtaining permission from the Chandel, said Indrakumar and added that the last piece of earth collected from the Tangbaw village on March 24, 2011 was dipped into the holy Mathura river on September 11, 2015 .
Everyone speaks about Irabot, discusses on his principles and ideology whenever the September month comes, but it seems that everyone has failed to understand the truth till now, alleged Indrakumar.
"I don't know much about Irabot's political ideology, but I want to discover the truth about his life" said Indrakumar while adding that the birth place and death place for someone are very important.
