MUTA felicitates

Manipur University Teachers' Association (MUTA) organised a felicitation programme in honour of Prof SK Srivastava, Dept of Chemistry, MU on his appointment as the Vice-Chancellor of North Eastern Hill University (NEHU), Shillong on Sept 22 at 2.30 pm at MU Canteen.
According to a statement, Prof M Ranjit Singh, president, MUTA chaired the programme.
The appointment of a faculty member of MU as a VC in a Central University outside the State is the first time in the history of MU.
The members congratulated Prof Srivastava wholeheartedly and wished him success in his new assignment.
Prof SK Srivastava obtained his M Sc and Ph D degrees from IIT Kanpur.
He joined the Dept of Chemistry, MU as Assistant Professor on Feb 7, 1983 and served as a Professor since 1995.He is a recipient of Commonwealth Academic Staff Fellowship under which he carried out post-doctoral research work at the University of Bristol, UK.
Prof Srivastava is also a member of NAAC Peer team presently.
He has been awarded the Chemical Research Society of India (CRSI) Bronze medal 2015 in recognition of his contributions to research in Chemistry.
