9th Governor's Cup Fencing C'ship concluded

Imphal, July 17 2013: The 5-day long 9th Governor's Cup Fencing Championship organised by Manipur Fencing Association concluded at Indoor Stadium Khuman Lampak today.

On the concluding day, final events of Senior Epee and Sabre categories were held.

S Jayenta of SA and Penand of SAI, RC won the gold and silver medals of the Men's Epee event and two players A Shaolin Meitei of SA and S Roshan of UPAA shared the bronze medal.

N Solik Singh of SAI, RC and N Chingsomba of SA emerged as the winner and runner in the final bout of the Senior Sabre category event to won a gold and silver medal respectively.

S Robinson Singh of UPA and A Rupachandra Sharma of SA managed at third spot.

In the Senior Women's Epee event played today, L Samasakhi Devi of SA won the gold medal and E Gita Devi of MPSC claimed the silver medal.

Two fencers, Kh Rangila Chanu of SAI, RC and K Laxmi Devi of MPSC got one bronze medal each at the third place.

Gold medal for Senior Women's Sabre event was claimed by Remi of SAI, RC and K Cherish of YLDC won the silver medal while Kh Premlata Devi of SA and P Nandini Devi of SAI, RC got one bronze medal each in the final bout of the category.

UPAA collected the Wahengbam Virvadra Sing Memorial Trophy for Mini Girl's Team Champion; Soraisam Ronika Devi Memorial Trophy for Sub-Junior Boy's Team Champion; Oinam Yaima Singh Memorial Trophy for Cadet Boy's Team Champion; Wakambam (O) Keisam Anou Devi Memorial Trophy for Junior Girls Team Champion; Thangjam (O) Mani Devi Memorial Trophy for Girls Overall Team Champion and Governor's Cup for Overall Team Champion titles.

Wahengbam Virvadra Sing Memorial Trophy for Mini Boy's Team Champion and Soraisam Ronika Devi Memorial Trophy for Sub-Junior Girl's Team Champion were won by KHSC.

SAI, RC won the Wakambam Nodia Singh Memorial Trophy for Junior Boy's Team Champion; Aribam Nandakeshore Sharma Memorial Trophy for Senor Boy's Team Champion and Thangjam Gopal Singh Memorial Trophy for Boy's Overall Team Champion.

MPSC managed to a team champion for Senior Girl's and won the Hijam (O) RK Sanatombi Devi Memorial Trophy.
