MPP to fill up vacant posts to string back

To strengthen the party once again and build up its position like before, Manipur People Party (MPP) is all set to fill up the vacant posts of the party through a free and fair election, for which a Returning Officer has been appointed.
A meeting of the Central Committee of the party was held at the party's office here today from 10 am to 3:30 pm during which the present position of the party was discussed in detail.
Later on, L Apabi from Kshetrigao A/C was appointed as the Returning Officer for election to the vacant posts of the party.
The currently vacant posts of the party include three Vice Presidents, five members of the Working Committee, two members of the Disciplinary Committee and five members of the Election Committee.
To fill up these vacant posts, MPP has decided to conduct a free and fair election.
Speaking to Hueiyen Lanpao in this connection, N Sobhakiran stated that according to the constitution of the party, the vacant posts have to be filled up through a free and fair election.
As such the meeting of the Working Committee resolved to conduct the election for the vacant posts.
He further stated that the members of the Working Committee shall be the electorates.
With filling up of vacant posts, the organizational structure of the party would be properly reviewed and the party, which had been the most powerful regional party with people putting their faith on it, would be revived once again.
During today's Central Committee meeting of MPP, a two-minute silence was also reportedly observed as mark of respect to the departed soul of Heikrujam Ibetombi, Vice President of Chanura Marup, MPP.
