Imphal, July 17 2013:
All Manipur Students' Union (AMSU) has pointed out several mistakes in the Sociology question paper of BA Second Semester conducted by Manipur University.
Addressing media persons at the office of AMSU office here today, HRD Secretary of AMSU Manjit Sarangthem said that the Sociology paper of BA 2nd Semester consists of five units carrying 20 marks each.
However, the questions in the semester examination were asked in total disregard of the pattern.
The unit-wise distribution of marks in the examination was 12 in Unit-I, 40 in Unit-II, 25 in Unit-III, 20 in Unit-IV and 3 in Unit-V.Manipur University has violated its own pattern, he noted.
Moreover, the word "Tarawad" was wrongly written as "Arawad" in the question paper.
The question was apparently set from the guide book written by one Dr Mina as the same wrong word "Arawad" was found in the guide book, the Secretary pointed out.
The Union has informed the authorities of Manipur University about the mistakes, but no action has been taken up by the authorities till date.
The students would launch intense agitation if the authorities concerned do not announce the mistakes publicly and give grace marks to the students for this goof-up, Manjit enjoined.
