Imphal, July 17 2013:
Reacting to yesterday's Jiribam incident in which a team of 22 Assam Rifles led by one Major barged into Jiribam Police Station to rescue an arrested leader of UTLA by assaulting the Additional SP and other police personnel, the proscribed United National Liberation Front (UNLF) has categorically stated the people of Manipur must realize the "true face" of Indian colonialists who are oppressing the people to the most extreme.
According to a statement issued by Senior Publicity Officer of UNLF Ksh Yoiheiba, the outfit takes the Jiribam incident seriously as it has manifested the true intention of Indian security forces deployed by the Indian colonialists in the State.
The acts of violence and extortion carried out by Indian security forces in collusion with some "unprincipled" organizations behind the shadow of peace talks, suspension of operation and surrender drama are becoming clearer to the public.
It further stated that Major Anand Kanti of 22 Assam Rifles came to rescue General Secretary of UTLA (SK Thadou faction) identified as Seikhohao Guite alias James Kuki, who was caught red-handed by Jiribam Police while trying to extort money from an oil pump in the name of KRA (U).
The Assam Rifles harboured those cadres of UTLA for a "surrender drama" and issued a fake Identity Card to the General Secretary in the name of Seinio Guite.
The security forces, purportedly deployed to assist the civil administration, have indeed turned out to act according to the masterminds of Indian colonialism, the outfit averred.
Ministers, MLAs, top bureaucrats and state forces often fail to realize that they themselves are also victims of Indian colonialism.
The Indian security forces have no regard even for Ministers and MLAs of the State.
A sepoy can frisk a Minister disregard of his position.
In such a scenario, the common people are most vulnerable to the oppression of Indian colonialists.
The "puppet Government" of Manipur should also come to the realization and stop acting to please their colonial masters, the UNLF contended.
