Ukhrul ADC says no to parting Choro

Taking strong exception to the reported move being made by the state and central government to give away Choro Village in Ukhrul district to Myanmar to settle border dispute, members of Autonomous District Council, Ukhrul submitted a memorandum to CM O Ibobi urging him to save and protect the village.
In the memorandum signed by its Chairman Jogn Raleng, ADC Ukhrul pointed out that Choro village is a hill house-tax paying village, inhabiting by Manipuri Indians under Ukhrul district since time immemorial.
The village and its neighbouring areas under Ukhrul district were wisely saved at the time of gifting away Kabaw valley to Burma, the memorandum added.
