Imphal, July 17 2013:
Expressing concern over the prevailing 'verbal war' between the teachers and authority of the lone university in the state, Manipur University Student Union Revival Demand Committee has appealed them to maintain peace and ensure a good academic atmosphere in the varsity.
Instead of concentrating on academic progress of the institute and pondering over the development of students both the parties are busy in hurling charges against each other through media.
But no one is going to gain from this, a statement of MUSU RDC observed, and appealed to both the teachers and the MU authority to co-operate each other and promote peaceful academic atmosphere in the university.
Referring to the mass casual leave and agitations proposed by Manipur University Teachers' Association (MUTA) with effect from 1st August, MUSU RDC stated that it would compel to perform its' rightful duties and responsibilities if the tussle continued for long.
Drawing the attention of the concerned authority over the demand of MUTA, the student body also appealed to all the concerned authorities to fill up the vacant posts of Finance Officers, Controller of Examination, Engineer, Director, Academic Staff College and develop required infrastructures of the university so as to establish a good academic atmosphere.
