10th Manipur State League SSU hold NISA 2-2; narrow win for AIM

L Gogcha's double helped SSU, Singjamei hold NISA, Thangmeiband 1-1 while a late penalty from Y Jugeshor helped AIM, Khabam carve out a narrow 2-1 win over YPHU, Lalambung in the ongoing 10th Manipur State League 2015, sponsored by Khumukcham Ingocha Singh Memorial Trust, today at Mapal Kangjeibung, Imphal.
In today's first match, a brilliant counter attack from SSU's L Gogocha gave an early opening goal in the fourth minute after kick off.
Minutes later, NISA quickly bounced back to level the scoreline 1-1 after Kh Naoton banged in the equaliser in the 9th minute through a defence splitting pass from S Manimohan.

It was a thrilling match as both teams secured a goal each in the first ten minutes.
N Jimmi of Thangmeiband side was the first player to be booked with a yellow card in the 14th minute.
Minutes later, L Milan netted the second goal of NISA through Kh Naoton in the 25th minute.
The first half ended with NISA on the advantage side taking a 2-1 lead.
After the breather, SSU players went on the offensive and started launching a series of attack till L Gogocha of SSU slammed home the equaliser in the 56th minute after swiftly collecting the ball punched out by NISA's goalkeeper after an attempt made by Gogocha's teammate Md Shidur.
After 2 goals each, both teams went on the aggressive seeking for a goal but failed to find the target in the remaining minutes of regulation time.
L Ratan of NISA was also yellow carded during the match for unsporting behaviour.
In another group math today, AIM, Khabam clinched a narrow 2-1 win after N Pritam converted a penalty in the last minute.
The match began with Y Kamando banging in the opening goal for YPHU in the 48th minute after both teams failed to break the deadlock in the first half.
W Arunkumar of YPHU was booked in the 63rd minute for commiting a foul on Th Vandona of AIM.
Y Sobha of AIM and Ng Arnold of YPHU were also yellow carded in the 75th minute after they were involved in a brawl.
AIM bounced back into the match in the 90th minute after Juishim Mashangva struck home the equaliser through Y Jugeshor.
A penalty was awarded to AIM in the additional 93rd minute after H Ramananda of YPHU committed a foul on AIM striker N Pritam in the penalty box.
N Pritam converted the penalty to seal the match 2-1 in favour of AIM.
