Imphal, September 15 2015:
Two trucks laden with goods heavier than the permissible limit have been made to turn back to Silchar from Jiribam by officials of Weight and Measures Department.
A notification issued by IGP (Ops) on September 7 banned movement of trucks weighing more than 24 metric tonnes (inclusive of the truck's weight) on Manipur section of Imphal-Silchar highway, informed a source.
Two trucks laden with around 420 bags of cement each were made to turn back to Silchar at around 6 pm today, informed an official of the Weight and Measures Department.
