Reachout speaks at 30th Regular Session of Human Rights Council

Imphal, September 15 2015:
IromSharmila's brother Irom Singhjit Singh and Kshetrimayum Onil, the lead coordinators of Reachout are attending 30th Regular Session of Human Rights Council being held in Geneva, Switzerland which started on September 14 .
According to a press note issued by Reachout, there are at least 10 participants from India in the session which ends on October 2.The session gives 2 minutes each to all speakers representing civil society organisations accredited to the UN.
Kshetrimayum Onil gave a statement under the general debate of Item 2 agenda Annual Report of the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights and Reports of the Office of the High Commissioner and the Secretary-General.
He said several forums are making efforts to address conflicts around the globe but there are still hostile conditions for the civil society organisations to work effectively.
He also pleaded with the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights to discuss issues of the situations of Dalits in mainland India, mongoloids races in North Eastern region of India and other minorities in India.
