Imphal, September 15 2015:
The All Manipur Student Guardians Association (AMSGA) has alleged that there were anomalies and discrepancies in the process of appointing Assistant Professors for JNIMS.
Speaking to media persons at Manipur Press Club this afternoon, AMSGA organisation secretary Sougrakpam Sumati said that the process of appointing 27 Assistant Professors for 13 departments, particularly appointment of four Assistant Professors for Anatomy Department was doubtful.
Advertisement for appointment to these posts were published on August 13 last year.
According to a notification issued on August 11 the same year, the four posts should be divided into unreserved (2 posts), ST (one) and OBC (one) .
Interview for the appointment was held on August 11 this year.
After the interview, six applicants were short-listed.
The Prof L Deven issued a notification on August 31 on behalf of the JNIMS Society which declared appointment of four applicants.
One Roshini N based at Chennai was appointed against the seat reserved for OBC.
Roshini is wife of a high ranking officer of an engineering department.
As such, it remains highly questionable how she was appointed against the seat reserved for OBC, Sumati said.
JNIMS authority should bring out a white paper on the matter within three days.
Such anomalies have turned out to be a serious setback to other candidates who applied for the post through proper channel, she added.
