Manipur emerges overall team champion in Natl Taekwondo c'ship

Imphal, January 03 2012:
Manipur Taekwondo team emerged overall team champion in the 6th National Open Taekwondo Championship, 2011 organised by Bengal Traditional Taekwondo Association under Taekwondo Federation of India held at the Kanailal Vidyamandir, Chandannagar (West Bengal) from the December29 to 31 last year.
Manipur Team won the title of Team Champion with 18 Gold, 4 Silver, and 4 Bronze in the championship.
H Raju (Sub-Jr Fly), H Hemachandra (Sub Jr Bentam), W Lankhomba (Sub Jr Feather), Th Zetli (Sub Jr Light), Sh Shamananda (Sub Jr Light Welter), RK Sanathoi (Sub Jr Light Middle), Y Bidyananda (Sub Jr Middle), A Sonamani (Sub Jr Heavy), M Nelson (Junior- Bentam), P Hemjit (Senior Feather), P Ringo Meitei (Senior FIN), L Lokendro (Senior Fly), W Sajan (Senior Light), M Romiyo (Senior Middle), W Naocha (Sub Jr Girls Welter), L Zindabi (Sub Jr Girls Bentam), L Sony (Sub Jr Girls Feather) and H Thomas Khuman (Jr Boys Light) won the 18 gold medals of Manipur.
The four silver medals were won by Arjun Saikhom (Sub Jr Welter), S Romesh (Peewee Boys Bentam), N Ronald (Junior Boys Feather) and N Ranbirsana (Senior Fly-colour belt).
Meanwhile, N Rabish (Pee Wee Feather), M Bisharu (Pee Wee Bentam), A Bicky Sharma (Pee Wee Fly) and M Jagatchandra (Senior Bentam) won bronze medals in the championships.
