Media houses get security personnel

Imphal, January 03 2012:
In the wake of planting a bomb at the entrance of Naharolgi Thoudang daily as threat to all media houses by banned KCP (MC) Lanchen Chanu, the Manipur Police Department has provided security coverage to all media houses in the state.
Protesting against the threat, editorial columns of all the dailies in Manipur were left blank on Tuesday's editions.
Meanwhile, AMWJU in a meeting held this evening appreciated the steps of the state government to arrange security personnel for the media houses.
The meeting decided that the representatives of the media body and the Chief Minister will hold a dialogue over the current development when the latter returns to Imphal.
Chief Minister is currently at Delhi.
The meeting also decided to take out a protest rally on January 7.The rally will begin from Tiddim Ground and will conclude at the Manipur Press Club, stated a press release of AMWJU.
