9th Manipur Polo International India, USA set for title clash

Imphal, November 27 2015 :
India and USA entered the final of the 9th Manipur Polo International 2015 organised by Manipur Horse Riding and Polo Association as part of the Manipur Sangai Tourism Festival at Mapal Kangjeibung.
With 12 points, India emerged the undisputed league champion of the tournament while USA, with 7 points, are placed second in the league point table.
The final match will be played on Nov 29 .
In the first match today, USA and England played out a 5-5 draw.
England took the lead by scoring two goals in the first chukker.
The goals for England in the first chukker were scored by Dave Allen and Jack Aldridge.

In the second chukker, both sides scored two goals each.
Mike Howe and Marcus Hancock scored for the England side while Peter James Balke and Jared Thomas Sheldon scored for the USA.
Joshua Shelton scored another goal for the USA in the third chukker.
While Jack Aldrige scored his second goal for the England side, Peter James Balke and Jared Thomas Sheldon scored another goal each for the USA in the fourth chukker.
In the second match today, India beat Australia by a margin of 13 goals to 7 .
Six goals of M Jawan helped the India team registered a comprehensive win over Australia.
S Bimol and P Ojit's trebles each and H Abung's goal contributed to India's win.
Robert Miller (3 goals) William Francis White (2 goals), James Henry Bell (1 goal) and Jack Archibald scored for Australia.
The closing function on Nov 29 will be graced by Manipur Chief Minister O Ibobi Singh as the chief guest while Francis Ngajokpa, RD&PR Minister will be the functional president.
Social Welfare Minister Ak Mirabai and MLA Nemcha Kipgen will attend the ceremony as the guests of honour while PVSLN Murty, Chief General Manager, SBI, Guwahati will be the special invitee.
