Heart screening camp at KV
Manipur Heart Foundation (MHF) in association with SKY Hospital and Research Centre, RIMS Road, Imphal West organized a week-long free heart screening camp at Kendriya Vidyalaya 1 GC CRPF camp from November 19 to 27 .
Altogether 795 students and staff of the school attended the camp where 36 students were referred to SKY Hospital for further test (free ECG, free blood sugar) .
AMESTA scholarship
All Manipur Elementary School Teachers Association(AMESTA) will distribute scholarship which is given to daughters of lady teachers' on December 4 (1 pm) at Manipur Press Club, Majorkhul.
The scholarship is sponsored by Canadian Teachers Federation(CTF), according to a statement issued by AMESTA general secretary.
BJP Bishnupur Mandal hails
BJP Bishnupur Mandal has thanked the voters of Thangmeiband and Thongju AC for electing BJP candidates in the November 21 by-polls.
The Mandal further expressed hope that the people will elect BJP canditates in the upcoming Municipal Council/Nagar Panchayat elections.
Cancer detection camp
A two-day free cancer detection camp has kicked off at Dharmalaya Social Welfare Centre, Brahmapur Nahabam Bamon Leikai.
The camp has been organised by the Salutory Service Society, Imphal and Cancer Patients Aid Association, Mumbai with the objective to detect cancer at an early stage so as to avail timely treatment.
The organising committee aims to treat 500 people during the two-day camp.
Killed in mishap
Driver of a mini truck was killed when the truck fell into a road side pond at Kakching Khunou, Thoubal district under Waikhong police station at around 9 pm yesterday.
As the driver identified as Thounaojam Sarat (38) s/o late T Meino of Waikhong Mamang Leikai lost control and the truck fell into the pond, he sustained serious injuries.
Even as he was rushed to Umathel PHC, he succumbed to the injuries.
