Imphal, November 27 2015 :
Indigenous People's Association of Kangleipak (IPAK) has once again urged different local clubs and organisations to stop conducting housie immediately.
In a statement, IPAK said that housie is an open gambling and it must be stopped in view of the ongoing annual examinations of different schools.
The social organisation said that most of the schools are conducting extra classes even on holidays as classes were suspended for a long period of time this year.
The statement added that it is unfortunate that some State level organisations remain adamant although IPAK had already urged all these organisations not to conduct housie after November 15 this year.
Housie not only creates noise pollution but also distracts students and youths from studies, IPAK observed.
It also urged the general public and organisations to extend support to the police in prohibiting housie at different localities.
