NPF president looks forward to 2017 ; Assembly polls Elected ADC NPF Members feted

Striking a positive stand after the success of the NPF in the MADC election, its president Dr Shurhozelie Liezietsu today said that the good showing should act as the spring board for the 2017 Assembly election in the State.
Liezietsu said this during the regional level felicitation programme of elected NPF ADC members at Town Hall Phungreitang, Ukhrul today.
Thousands of NPF supporters and party workers attended the felicitation programme today.
ADC members from Tamenglong, Chandel, Senepati and Ukhrul led by their respective chairmen and party leaders, including two NPF ADC members from Sadar Hill attended the felicitation programme.
Speaking at the occasion Chairmen of different ADCs and NPF leaders expressed their support to the framework agreement that was recently signed between the NSCN (IM) and the Government of India.

All expressed the common desire to strengthen the NPF at their respective districts as well as concurrently work to expedite the Indo- Naga peace dialogue for early solution.
Samuel Risom, who recently resigned as an MLA, mourned the untimely demise of Rajya Sabha member Khekhiko Zhimomi and shared solidarity with the bereaved family.
He also launched a scathing attack on the present Ibobi led Government dubbing it a lawless Government.
The recent by-election results have proven that money or muscle power cannot win the heart of the voters and it is a sign that people are losing faith in this Government.
The NPF by striking up a grand alliance in the next election will be able to form the Government here, added Risom.
Satte unit president of NPF, president Awangbou Newmai talked on the principles of the NPF and added that the party will stand by the tribal community of the State.
He also expressed dissappointment with the delay in ADC formation, which clearly shows that the State Government has no respect for democracy.
Awangbou urged the elected ADC members to maintain good relationship with the voters and execute/ implement the promises which they had given to the people.
The NPF leader further said that no problem in the State can be solved until the Indo- Naga solution is settled and elaborated that it is not a question of schemes or grants, development but resolving the Indo-Naga issue.
The same has also been apprised to the Central Government, he asserted.
The State unit president of the NPF also declared that 6000 BJP members including vice president of Kisan Morcha in Chandel have joined the NPF.
A Kikon convenor of the legal cell of NPF, central office elucidated on the recent internal party crisis and said that it was the handiwork of some vested persons to rock the stability of the party.
Neiba Kronu, Parliamentary Secretary, Nagaland and in-charge of Manipur, NPF said that the party is in the process of penetrating Assam, Arunachal pradesh and in all Naga inhabited areas.
Dr Shurhozelie exhorted the gathering to strengthen the NPF as it is the only common political platform for the tribals, especially the Nagas.
He urged the party workers and supporters to be more disciplined and to abide by the principles of the party.
56 ADC members were felicitated today including independent and Congress Members who recently joined the NPF and two Members from Sadar Hills.
The programme was attended by Victor Nunghlung, Morung Makunga from Chandel, LK Chongloi, Honreikhui, Stephen Angkang and others.
