Traditional clothes in high demand at NERCORMP exhibition

Traditional clothes, specially indigenously woven women wear, were in high demand during the three day NERCORMP exhibition cum sale mela at Ukhrul.
According to them in three days, sellers of the indigenous women clothes earned over Rs 2 lakh.
Even though vegetables were in high demand, their sale proceeds could not match the other items.
The Programme Manager of UDCRMS/IFAD, Ukhrul Tychicus Vashum declared the 9th NERCORMP Exhibition cum Sale closed today.
Earlier , before the closing programme the three day sales proceeds from all the stalls were announced and it was a handsome Rs 17.45 lakh.
Kamtha cluster, Shomi SHG and Chirmi SHG federation were adjudged the Ist, 2nd and 3rd spot winners of the 9th NERCORMP Exhibition cum Sale.
During a brief interaction some of the farmers said the exhibition cum sale programme was very beneficial for them because they managed to gain some knowledge on marketing within a short period of time.
